Southside Folk, Southside Bandit, Texas Syndicate, Valluco, Loco 13 and Latin Kings, arrested 31 alleged gang members

arrested 31 alleged gang members as part of the on-going Operation Street Sweep.

The initiative is designed to apply pressure on the gang criminal element in the county, said Sheriff Lupe Treviño. The suspects had outstanding warrants for their arrests ranging from murder revocation to burglary of vehicles, he added.

“We have discovered that violent and property crime is significantly down since we started Operation Street Sweep,” Treviño said. “Every day that a gangster spends in jail, is one less day he has to commit a crime.”

The suspects belonged to various street and prison gangs, including Southside Folk, Southside Bandit, Texas Syndicate, Valluco, Loco 13 and Latin Kings.

“We will continue to pursue the whereabouts of every gang member that is wanted on an open warrant until all leads are exhausted,” Treviño said.

Last month, deputies arrested an addition 45 gang members also as part of the operation.
