Bob Holloway, 60, and his son Brent Holloway, 35, were arrested July 15. Six others also are charged. They are accused of running a racketeering and extortion ring that trafficked in stolen motor vehicle parts and collecting debts by force or with the threat of force.According to authorities, four of the suspects are associated with motorcycle gangs, another is a former chief executive officer of Indian Motorcycles and the last is a former Merced County sheriff's deputy who allegedly tapped into law enforcement databases on Holloway's behalf.The two-year investigation also snared three others with law enforcement connections: Stanislaus County Sheriff's Capt. Raul DeLeon, retired sheriff's deputy David Swanson and former corrections officer Steven J. Johnson. They are charged with lying to federal authorities. 5th Street Bulldog Gang Members conspiracy to commit murder and participation in a criminal street gang

Fresno Police are now investigating the city's 20th murder of the year, after the victim succumbed to his injuries on Friday. Police say 26-year-old Francisco Solano of Fresno was shot back on June 18th, near the 3400 Block of E. Woodward. Solano was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries on June 20th. Three arrests have already been made in the case. Police have arrested 19-year-old Joshua Martinez, 18-year-old Eric Almarez and 22-year-old Rocky Gonzales. All of the men were booked in the Fresno County Jail where they have been charged with attempted murder (which will now be changed to murder), conspiracy to commit murder and participation in a criminal street gang. A 17-year-old juvenile was also arrested; he was booked into the Fresno County Juvenile Hall on the same charges as the other men. Police say all of the men are validated 5th Street Bulldog Gang Members.

Southeast Asian gangs targeted

Twenty-eight felony arrests were made during a one-day operation Wednesday that targeted Southeast Asian gangs in Fresno, police said Thursday. Of the 28 arrests, 16 were Southeast Asian gang members, Sgt. Alex Robles reported. The operation was ordered by Fresno police Chief Jerry Dyer after a rash of gang-on-gang shootings in Fresno during the past month.
