Jonathan Cabrera, 27, was arrested on charges of murder and attempted murder after he allegedly fired numerous shots striking 20-year-old Rodrigo Vasquez and 31-year-old Samuel Castro last week outside La Escondida, 5524 14th Street W. Vasquez died a few hours later after he was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. Castro remains in critical condition at Tampa General Hospital. He had surgery Friday. Cabrera told detectives he turned himself in after reading about the shootings in the Bradenton Herald. He went to a sheriff’s office substation located in Oneco to contact authorities.When questioned about the shootings, he said he didn’t pull the trigger.At about 1 a.m. April 4, there were about five men inside the nightclub, including Cabrera, Castro and Vasquez, who were acquaintances.
